Salary 2nd Engineer:
Oil Tankers: $135,000 - $150,000 CAD per year (6 months on board) minimum.
Bulk / Container / General Cargo : $85,000 - $110,000 CAD per year (6 months on board) minimum.
Ferry Ship / Touristic Boat : $75,000 - $85,000 CAD per season (Go home every night)
Visa Requirement: C1D US Visa is needed 50% of the time for non-merchant marine ships.
Required:
-Right to work in Canada. Right to work on Canadian ships.
-Eligible for Transport Canada endorsement if from a foreign country.
-STCW diplomas for holding the role of a 2nd engineer
Due to reciprocity between the Canadian government and foreign governments on recognitions of seafarers, only candidacies of seafarers whose permits / diplomas / certificates come maritime academies in the following countries can legally be considered: Canada, Ukraine, France, Georgia, United Kingdom, Australia, Norway, Panama, Jamaica, Brunei or the Philippines
