QC Inspector Water Alternate Gas (WAG) Manifolds – Brazil
Location: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (Residential, with travel to Vespasiano/MG)
Contract: 12-Months
Rate: Day Rate (USD)
We are seeking a highly experienced QC Inspector to support fabrication activities for subsea WAG (Water Alternating Gas) manifolds and associated foundations. Based residentially in Rio de Janeiro, this role will oversee contractor quality performance during fabrication, ensuring strict compliance with project specifications, international codes, and HSE standards. This is a senior-level inspection role requiring deep expertise in welding, CRA materials, and advanced NDT techniques within subsea or offshore fabrication environments.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive welding inspections (before, during, and after welding activities) in accordance with ISO 3834-2 and relevant international codes
Inspect fabrication of WAG manifolds and subsea structures to ensure compliance with specifications and quality requirements
Verify conformance of WPS/PQR documentation and mill certificates
Conduct and oversee advanced NDT techniques including UT, PAUT, RT, MPI, and DPI
Monitor welding of CRA materials including Super Duplex, Inconel 625, Alloy 59, and F22
Identify, report, and manage non-conformities; stop work where required
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action development
Prepare detailed weekly inspection and quality reports
Liaise closely with site representatives, welding engineers, and materials specialists
Support audits and follow-up on corrective action closure
Ensure full compliance with HSE requirements and quality standards at all times
Candidate Profile
15+ years’ experience in welding inspection within subsea, offshore, or oil & gas fabrication
Strong experience with WAG manifolds or subsea production systems preferred
Certified Welding Inspector (CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2 or equivalent CWI certification)
NDT Level 2 certification (UT & PAUT, RT, DPI required)
Extensive experience with CRA materials and advanced welding processes
Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
Fluent in English (Portuguese is advantageous)
Strong analytical, reporting, and stakeholder communication skills
