Senior Construction Planner
Location: Wesseling, Germany (On-Site)
Contract: 12-Month Contract (Self-Employed Basis)
Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Planner to join a major CapEx energy and chemicals construction project in Wesseling, Germany.
Working on-site alongside the existing project controls team, you will play a key role in managing and analysing construction schedules, contractor performance, and progress reporting across a complex, resource-loaded programme. This role requires strong hands-on experience in large-scale industrial construction planning and deep expertise in Primavera P6.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver daily, weekly, and monthly project planning and progress reports
Develop and maintain baseline schedules, S-curves, histograms, and critical path analysis
Conduct detailed review of EPC contractor submissions relating to planning, scheduling, and progress measurement
Validate monthly physical progress claims from contractors
Monitor and analyse schedule performance, productivity, and resource deployment
Identify variances between actual progress and approved schedules, recommending mitigation strategies
Perform schedule risk analysis and earned value assessments
Maintain large-scale, resource-loaded Primavera P6 schedules (thousands of activities)
Interface with project managers, engineers, procurement, and subcontractors to secure accurate project data
Contribute to the development and maintenance of project planning and reporting systems
Candidate Profile
10+ years’ hands-on construction planning experience within large CapEx energy or chemicals projects
Strong Primavera P6 expertise, including resource-loaded scheduling
Experience with earned value management and productivity analysis
Background working alongside EPC contractors during construction phase
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify risks and propose mitigation strategies
Confident communicator able to engage with multidisciplinary project teams
Fluent in English (German is advantageous)
