Senior Project Engineer (CFR Package) – Tanzania
Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Duration: 12-Month Contract
Rotation: 8 Weeks On / 2 Weeks Off
Rate: Day Rate (USD)
We are supporting a major international crude oil pipeline project in East Africa and are looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to support the delivery of a complex Carbon Footprint Reduction (CFR) package. This is a high-impact role, ideal for someone who thrives in large-scale, multidisciplinary environments and is passionate about driving innovative energy and sustainability solutions. Reporting to the Package Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the successful execution of multiple contracts associated with power systems, renewable integration, and emissions reduction initiatives. You’ll act as a focal point across engineering, procurement, and construction activities—ensuring delivery is on time, on budget, and to the highest technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
Support delivery of the CFR package, targeting significant CO₂ emissions reduction at project start-up
Manage and coordinate multiple contracts, including:
Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
High-voltage substations and power management systems
Solar farm EPC delivery
Engineering, procurement, and construction scopes
Monitor contractor and vendor performance, progress, and costs
Review and approve technical deliverables across engineering and construction phases
Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams (engineering, HSEQ, operations, commercial, legal)
Support planning, scheduling, and reporting activities (Primavera-based)
Contribute to change management, forecasting, and project controls
Interface with stakeholders, partners, and authorities as required
Provide insights on risks, opportunities, and performance improvements
Candidate Profile
Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline (BSc/MSc or equivalent)
10–20 years’ experience in Oil & Gas or large-scale infrastructure projects
Strong experience in at least one key discipline:
Electrical Engineering
Instrumentation
Construction / Site Supervision
Proven track record managing complex contracts and contractors
Strong knowledge of Primavera and project controls
Experience working in multicultural, international project environments
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
