O&M Contracts Analyst - Madrid

Contract Position
Day Rate Basis
We are supporting a global energy operator and are looking for an experienced O&M Contracts Analyst to join their Supply Chain & Contracts team in Madrid. This is an excellent opportunity to work across international operations supporting maintenance and operational contracting activities for assets across Europe and Latin America. The role will focus on developing contracting strategies, managing tendering activities, supporting negotiations, and driving commercial value across operational and maintenance scopes. Reporting to the Senior Supply Chain Manager, you will support end-to-end contracting and procurement activities across multiple business units and operational environments. You'll work closely with technical, legal, finance, HSE, and operations teams to ensure safe, compliant, and commercially effective contract management throughout the full contract lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Develop procurement plans and category contracting strategies aligned with operational requirements
Lead end-to-end sourcing and tendering activities (RFI/RFQ/RFP processes)
Develop scopes of work, commercial models, bid evaluation criteria, and negotiation strategies
Evaluate technical and commercial bids and prepare award recommendations
Lead supplier and contractor negotiations across commercial and contractual terms
Support drafting, review, and finalisation of contracts with internal stakeholders
Manage contract lifecycle activities including amendments, variations, and close-out
Support claims management, dispute avoidance, and commercial risk mitigation
Monitor supplier performance across HSE, quality, cost, and schedule metrics
Maintain accurate contract documentation and audit-ready records
Provide reporting and analytics related to contracts, procurement activities, savings, and risks
Support continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain and contracts processes
Candidate Profile
Degree qualified in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or related discipline
5+ years' experience within Contracts, Supply Chain, Procurement, or Commercial roles in Oil & Gas or other capital-intensive industries
Strong experience supporting O&M contracts and operational services procurement
Proven background managing complex tenders and contract negotiations
Good understanding of:
Contractual risk allocation
Claims & variations management
Supplier performance management
Commercial strategy
Experience using:
SAP
Ariba
Icertis
Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
Fluent in both English and Spanish
