Company: WRS - Worldwide Recruitment Solutions Location: Suriname, Suriname Job type: Contract Salary: Competitive GBP / YEAR Posted: 2026-03-24 Marine Superintendent – Suriname Location: Paramaribo, Suriname (Rotational) Rotation: 5 Weeks On / 5 Weeks Off Contract: 2-Year Contract Rate: Day Rate (USD) Start: Target April 2026 We are seeking an experienced Marine Superintendent to support offshore drilling and marine operations on a major deepwater development in Suriname. This is a rotational role working across marine logistics, rig support, and offshore operations, ensuring all marine activities are planned, executed, and delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with project and international standards. Key Responsibilities Marine Operations Management Plan, coordinate, and oversee all marine operations including rig moves, mooring, and offshore support activities Supervise pre-lay and retrieval of mooring systems and anchor handling operations Approve mooring arrangements, marine procedures, and operational plans Monitor offshore execution to ensure safe and efficient delivery Inspection & Readiness Perform pre-hire inspections of drilling rigs, PSVs, and AHTS vessels Verify vessel readiness, certification, and compliance with operational requirements Review contractor equipment, personnel certifications, and capabilities Planning & Coordination Act as the focal point for all marine-related activities between contractors, drilling teams, and internal stakeholders Coordinate marine studies, soil tests, and technical assessments Ensure timely receipt and validation of planning data from contractors Support optimisation of marine logistics and resource planning Technical & Compliance Oversight Review and validate procedures, risk assessments (JRA), and task plans Ensure compliance with international marine standards and project requirements Support marine engineering decisions and provide technical expertise Issue marine operation notices and coordinate communications across stakeholders HSE & Performance Promote and enforce strong HSE culture across all marine activities Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to safety standards Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies Provide regular reporting on marine operations and performance Candidate Requirements Extensive experience in marine operations within offshore oil & gas projects Strong background in rig moves, mooring systems, and anchor handling operations Experience working with AHTS vessels, PSVs, and drilling rigs Proven ability to manage contractors and offshore operations Strong knowledge of marine standards, procedures, and safety requirements Ability to review technical documentation and marine studies Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Fluent English If you are interested, please apply
